No Bored Pets Here!

Busy Buddy Squirrels and Kongs are great toys for dogs that enjoy chewing. It is a dog’s instinct to chew and receive satisfaction from the challenge of getting food. This is why Busy Buddy Squirrels and Kongs are a great option to give your puppy and older dog to keep them challenged and happy. HappyHealthyPets.biz recommends stuffing the Kongs and throwing them into the freezer for future Canine happy meals (see below for directions). With the Buddy Squirrels, using kibble is fun and attractive (as long as your dog likes the kibble ;-). The kibble rattles and bounces with the squirrel and, with the special design to hold the kibble in, you can customize to your pups chewing/interest level. These are two great options for hours of entertainment for your pup.

Stuff the cavity of the Kong with raw hamburger meat and baby carrots. Simply make a bunch of these, throw in the freezer and take out when you need your canine to be happy and busy. If your pup is a heavy duty chewer, stuff the cavity tighter with mixture - if a light chewer, stuff looser. If you notice your pup devours too quickly, it’s probably too easy. If you notice your pup loses interest it may be that the stuffing is too tight and they get frustrated or simply you are stuffing the Kong with something that’s not appealing.

HappyHealthyPets.biz uses both toys when we get busy for an easy on the go meal too! Just beware; they are a meal so watch how much you feed in addition to these great choices. There's nothing wrong with cutting back food in the bowl and letting your pup enjoy working for the food!

PUPPY ALERT! THEY CHEW…what better way to keep them happy when crate training or giving them private time to be by themselves. The frozen toys feel wonderful on teething puppy’s gums and it’s positive for them to chew on something good…instead of shoes, furniture, etc. Training a puppy is all about management. Set your puppy up for a good experience chewing on a Busy Buddy Squirrel or they WILL find something inappropriate to chew on instead!

Warning: If you start using these toys often they do become addicting for both you and your pup! Dirty? Just simply stick in dishwasher and stuff again! What a great option!
A Ball toy that you can make!

You can make a toy that bounces unpredictably by taking a ball, like a tennis ball, and punching holes in two sides. Then take some heavy cord, or and old tie or scarf and push it in one hole and out the other. Tie a knot on one side so that it won’t slip out then pull the cord or cloth to make a sort of a long tail. Tie another knot near the ball to keep the cloth in place. Now you have a tennis ball with a long tail that will bounce in odd directions when it hits the ground attracting the most jaded dog’s desire to chase and retrieve.

For your feline friend, cat nip for Cats is a must. Cats need to have toys relaxation when you aren’t home. Halo’s 7th Heaven catnip is a great solution. When you leave give your kitty a 7th Heaven and they will be in 7th Heaven while you are gone.
