Description

Alaska Naturals Pet Products has created a blend of the 2 best wild Alaska fish oils, Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil and Wild Alaska Pollock Oil-We call it Wild Alaska Salmon Oil Formula. The Formula aids dogs in the natural processes of good overall general health.

Wild Alaska Salmon Oil typically has a balanced ratio of EPA and DHA. Wild Alaska Pollock Oil typically has a lopsided ratio that has more EPA than DHA. DHA aids the body's natural process of support for cellular growth of internal systems and may support the external skin and coat too. EPA aids the body's natural process of support for the immune system and aids the natural process as an anti-inflammatory agent too. Our wild Formula brings to your pet a natural triglyceride-based supplement that gives you levels of bioavailable omega 3 long chain fatty acids that cannot be achieved by heat processed pellets, kibble, soft canned or dehydrated foods. Our oils partner with all diets to include raw diets perfectly!

FAQ

Our oils are produced from fresh wild Salmon and Pollock which is harvested in the pristine waters of Alaska, and then bottled in our Bellingham, Washington production plant. The oils are processed using low temperature centrifugation and then stabilized with natural tocopherols. Additionally, each bottle is nitrogen purged to displace oxygen, which ensures shelf freshness for 24 months from production.

The oil should be stored in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight and avoiding temperatures above 86° F, as both of these things can cause it to spoil. It is not generally necessary to refrigerate the oil; the exception to this is, during the summer months if temperatures exceed 86° F for homes which do not use central air-conditioning.

The date on the bottle is valid until the bottle has been opened. Once bottle has been opened, store bottle at room temperature-use within 45 days. Store bottle in refrigerator-use within 90 days.

While our fishing locations remain the same from year to year, because it is a natural product, the oil may vary in color. This is because the flesh color varies from fish to fish and season to season, depending on their amount of time spent in the ocean, what and how often they eat, etc.
Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are "good" fats which are required for normal growth and physiological integrity. They are important for your pet to maintain a healthy skin and coat, and promote strong immune, cardiovascular and nervous systems. Because essential fatty acids are not made in the body, they need to be ingested. This is easily done for your pets by providing them as food or supplements. The best source for EFAs is seafood. While some plants (such as flax seed) do contain EFAs, they do not contain the important long chain fatty acids EPA and DHA which can only be found from marine sources. The amounts average in the following range: EPA 365-410, DHA 410-455.
The fish used to produce our oils are wild caught in Alaska. Alaska's marine habitats are extremely clean, and Alaska's fish are remarkably low or free from contamination by pesticides, petroleum derivatives, PCBs, metals, and bacteria. Because Alaska is thousands of miles away from large sources of pollution, these distances, combined with the Earth's patterns of circulation of water and air, help to ensure that Alaska's waters are among the cleanest in the world. Be assured, the state of Alaska conducts contamination surveys of the various species native to the waters around the state.
Natural tocopherol is added after the oil is extracted, to act as a preservative. We use a mix of the 4 major vitamin E compounds: alfa, beta, delta, and gamma.
The ingredients of the regular salmon and pollock oils are the same for both cat and dog versions. Because most pet stores separate products by species, we have created two labels for retail display.

Boy does he eat it up!

We purchased Wild Alaska Salmon Oil to help with our dogs skin, coat, & joints. His coat is beautiful, it has helped his dry skin issues but we use additional things for his skin. I do not know if it is helping his joints. The best thing about it is that we put a few pumps on his dry dog food and it has become his favorite meal.
Its priced well, it has helped his appetite, it has helped his coat, and it hasn't caused any side effects. none

Alaska Naturals Wild Alaska Salmon Oil

I have previously purchased the larger container, with my two basset hounds loving it. This time I purchased the 15.5 oz bottles, because they fit better in my kitchen cupboards. My houndies LOVE this "wild" salmon oil on their crunchies every night! The bottles arrived with leak-proof packaging and very promptly. I have tried others, but the Alaska Naturals have a much more predictable pump (that doesn't surprise you, squirting all over the place). Great price as well!

There are many choices of salmon oil for my golden retriev er, but I am convinced that this Alaska Naturals Wild Alaska Salmon Oil Original is the best. Instead of trying to find it in a pet store, I find it so easy to order through Healthy Pets. I am very, very satisfied. Thank you,

Alaska Naturals Wild Alaska Salmon Oil for Dogs
September 21, 2015
This salmon oil (plastic) bottle came well packaged and did not leak. It's hard to find "wild" salmon, rather than farmed (which is disgusting). The fact that the wild salmon came from Alaska is great, because there is much less pollution in the water up there (rather than from the California coast). My two basset hounds get the salmon oil added to their evening meal. They start barking as soon as I pull the container out of the cupboard. Obviously they love it.
Comes in an easy to use pump bottle. Alaska wild salmon is the best quality. My houndies love it on their food. It stinks, as do all brands of salmon oil.
